    What will I learn?

    We'll take you through the UCAS application journey, including key dates and the role of the teacher/adviser in the application process. This is particularly suited to those who are new to the UCAS process. The information displayed throughout this module refers to the 2021 admissions cycle.  

    This introductory unit will help you to:

    • Understand the UCAS Undergraduate application process.
    • Explain key dates and stages in the application process.
    • Identify the role of an adviser in the application process.

    Getting started with personal statements

    Welcome to this personal statement training course for Teachers and Advisers. The personal statement is an important part of any application to higher education. This is your chance to develop your knowledge about what makes a great personal statement, and to feel more confident as you guide students through the research and writing process.

    This module will take around 20 minutes to complete and each section will show a dial that indicates how far from the end of the section you are.

    It's recommended that you work through the course from start to finish, but if you're pressed for time you can use the navigation tools to skip any sections that you already feel confident with.

    • explain how the Verification Team works
    • detail examples of fraudulent documents
    • describe the potential outcomes of the fraudulent cases.
